Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation (BHBFC) is a specialized public financial institution that finances the construction and renovation of houses and purchasing of residential apartments all over Bangladesh. The institution was set up in 1973 under presidential orders. The headquarter is located at 22 Purana Paltan Dhaka. Apart from its headquarters, Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation has a total of 84 offices including 10 Zonal offices and 14 Regional Offices, and 63 Branch Offices.
Capital and Source of Fund: The Authorised capital of BHBFC is 10 Billion Taka and Paid up capital is 5 billion Taka. Besides the Corporation raises funds through the sale of debentures to Bangladesh Bank and commercial banks through government guarantees with the assistance of the MoF. Also, the Corporation raises funds by taking government loans and deposits.
Management: The Board of Directors of the Corporation consists of 6 (six) members including a Chairman appointed by the Government. The managing director is the chief executive of the corporation and an ex-officio member of the board of directors. The Board of Directors formulates the overall policies of the Corporation and gives various directions regarding management activities.
